Wade Troxell

WADE TROXELL is the Mayor of Fort Collins, Colorado. As a Malcolm Baldrige 2017 recipient, Fort Collins was recognized for our unceasing drive for radical innovation, thoughtful leadership, and administrative improvement. Mayor Troxell was first elected in April 2015 is now serving his second term. He is on the Mechanical Engineering (ME) faculty and serves as the ME Associate Department Head at Colorado State University (CSU). As a community of 170,000 residents, Fort Collins is a University city, home to CSU. Our community is known for natural beauty, vibrant high-tech industry that provides for a strong economy, which enables a desirable place for families to live, work, and play. As Mayor, he is committed to a sustainable future impacting our energy, water, multi-modal transportation and environmental stewardship. Dr. Troxell received his BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from CSU. He was a NATO Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He has been on the faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1985. Dr. Troxell is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of robotics and intelligent control of distributed systems. His research has focused on autonomous robotic systems and architectures for distributed resources.
